Doctor's Office Diagrams III

The exemplary human head is drawn
with the hairstyle of an American politician

for the small fraction of humanity
who might find this face reassuring.

  1. LOL. I had never, ever thought of writing a poem about the ubiquitously bad hair stylings of American politicians... LOL. Now, I will think poetry and laugh each time I see one of those ugly hair styles! THANK YOU!

(Oh, and blogspot doesn't like me, so if you can't see my name - this is Julie Jordan Scott - I am doing the Mini Poetry Challenge on ReadWritePoem.org too)

  2. There is a wicked, and wonderful, imagination going on here!

(And ditto, sorry, but it can be hard getting blogspot to accept my WordPress identity for posting comments here.)

  3. Biting. Excellent point. Well stated. Not sure about 'exemplary' though. Would 'perfect' or 'ideal' do?

  4. Nineteen Fifties. You would imagine they'd change the exteriors, even though the insides don't much follow fashion.

  5. Thanks, everybody!

Jim, I guess I meant 'exemplary' more like 'standard,' because it sounded like 'example'. rather than to suggest that anyone actually approved of the thing. perhaps there is a better word.

sorry you all are having trouble posting. i hope this is this blogspot's doing and not mine...

  6. Ah, the right word. Sometimes it is just so hard to find that right word, the one that encompasses everything you want it to say. How about 'regulation' or 'archetypal'?

  7. i liked examplary. i got that you were going for standard. and, at the same time, commenting that there's a stereotypical power head. or something. you did better explaining it in the poem than i'm doing here.
